Pillow Talking Burglar

There is a real wacky burglar in Orlando, Florida. He creeps into women's bedrooms in the middle of the night to talk and he steals their belongings.

One victim said he just lay down beside her and started a general conversation like he and she were friends.

The pillow-talking thief was dressed in nice slacks and wore cologne so the victim doesn't think he's homeless. She told him to leave her apartment and he did.

A neighbor said the thief forced her window open while she was away from home. She said jewelry and car keys were stolen.

This strange crime has happened more than once and in more than one apartment complex in the area. None of the women were hurt and police are still trying to identify all the victims.

Getting too comfortable in your neighborhood could lead to careless behavior. Here are some ways to keep safe in your home:

- Lock all doors and windows, especially when you are away from home and at night
- Place bars in sliding doors
- Alarms on windows (burglars don't like noise)
- Cut any shrubs that cover windows so neighbors can see your windows
- Get a dog
- Buy a security camera

Boy Hides from Three Intruders; Calls 911

An 11 year-old boy, in Hollywood, Florida was at home alone when he heard three teenagers breaking in the house. He called his Dad, Luis Gutierrez, Sr., who had just left to go to the store.  Luis Sr called 911 to report the break in while on his way home.

Luis, Jr. got his dog, the phone, found a hiding place beneath his bed and called 911.

Luis was able to remain calm and speak quietly while talking to the 911 operator; he was very brave.

Want it Wednesday - Denim Capris - $24.99(Plus) and $22.99(Missy)

My issue with this story is the 911 operator. Although I'm not blaming her for following procedure, initially, she didn't believe Luis and told him she wasn't sure it was a real emergency.

Prank calls are a problem for 911 operators, but it's better to err on the side of caution which she did.

In an emergency, every second counts. Should 911 operators take precious time deciding if there is a real emergency or should they send emergency assistance even if they believe it is a prank?

What do you think? Scroll down and leave your comments.

Intoxicated Women with Children

On Friday, Stephanie Dillard, 34, was driving in Houston with three children. At some point, Dillard collided with a Metro city bus.

Her 5 year-old had a gash under one eye and the 12 year-old and the 16 year-old were pretty shaken up. Dillard got out of the car and walked a short distance to a CVS...but not to get help for her children.

Dillard reportedly entered the CVS and began removing her clothes "as she ate ice cream". Police were called to the CVS. When they arrived, they found Dillard naked and eating ice cream, but she wasn't ready to leave.

Subsequently, police found the wrecked car with the children inside.

The children are now in the custody of their grandparent.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office
Last week, Melissa Ann Ammons, 34, went into a bar in Destin, Florida.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's office received a call around 3:44 a.m. from a witness who found two girls walking around in the parking lot of AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar.

The two girls, ages seven and eleven, said they were looking for their mom, Melissa Ammons of Montgomery, Alabama.

When deputies arrived, Ammons was already back in the car with the girls getting ready to leave the bar.

According to police, Ammons left the children alone in the car while she went drinking in the bar for about an hour and a half. She was charged with child neglect and DUI. Hopefully, her children are removed from her custody.

Tosney Weeks, 36, went partying over the weekend with children, too. She got into a fight, with a 9 year-old boy in her custody, in the parking lot of Fuji Sushi Buffet in Destin, Florida.

The 9 year-old left the restaurant around 9:30 p.m. on Friday night. He was walking home down a very busy highway. Sheriff's deputies picked him up about a mile down the highway.

Deputies went to the restaurant and found Weeks behind the wheel of her car, getting ready to leave, with a 5 year-old in the back seat.

These women all have excuses for their behavior, but there are no acceptable excuses for neglecting children.  They will probably never win "Mother of the Year" awards, but maybe some time in jail will give them a chance to reflect on their charges.

Women Arrested for Robbing Pizza Hut Driver

Tiffany Jacobs and Alvina Leiba - Volusia County Jail
Two women, both 19 years-old, in Deltona, Florida placed an order for delivery with Pizza Hut.

When the driver, Brian Healy, arrived just after midnight, Alvina Leiba answered the door.  She asked him to place the food on a table inside the door.

Healy, 19, waited in the doorway while Leiba searched for money.  Tiffany Jacobs came up behind the driver, wearing all black clothing and a mask, and struck him in the head with a baseball bat.

The driver was able to wrestle the bat away from her and she ran away.  Leiba had closed the door with the food inside.  The driver said he called his manager and was advised to contact police because he had "been assaulted with a deadly weapon".

The driver contacted police and made a report.  Jacobs and Leiba hid in the woods nearby until sunrise.  The then went home and ate the 2 pizzas, 14 hot wings and apple pie.

They were subsequently arrested and placed in a holding cell.  According to deputies, they were laughing and joking about the incident.  Leiba said she "would not pay any fines assigned to her and would flee to Trinidad" and that she was "so hungry she would rob a McDonald's with Jacobs when the got out of jail."

Jacobs, 5" 1" and 200 pounds, told police they had "been planning on robbing a pizza delivery man for approximately one year".  The first attempt failed when Jacobs answered the door and Leiba tried to hit Healy, but at only 5' 3" and 120 pounds, Leiba didn't scare him.  Jacobs paid him the money for the order and he left without reporting incident to police because he got the money and he wasn't assaulted.

Jacobs said they only planned to "scare" the driver, but as she swung the bat at a pole near the door, she "accidently" hit Healy. The duo claim they were hungry and didn't have enough cash.

Tiffany Jacobs was charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.  Leiba, who faces an armed robbery count, posted a $1500 bond and bailed out of jail on Saturday.

The story that they were hungry doesn't wash because they said they had been planning to rob a delivery person for some time.  Neither of them look as if they have missed any meals lately.

These are some really dumb criminals.  When Pizza Hut says "Gather 'Round the Good Stuff", the intent is that you pay first. When they go to jail, they won't need to worry about being hungry...they will get three meals a day.

Peace

Two Four Year-Old Boys Served Alcohol in Restaurant

Two women took their 4 year-old sons to Frenchy's South Beach Cafe in Clearwater, Florida on Mother's Day. They ordered their meal and ordered drinks for themselves and virgin strawberry daiquiris for the two boys. The mothers said the boys had "earned a special treat" so they ordered the virgin daiquiris.

Jessica Weatherford said her son drank very little of his drink.  Jamie Goins said her son quickly finished his drink. Goins said he "started acting a little strange, falling asleep, stumbling over things...then the started vomiting."

The mothers didn't realize the drinks had alcohol in them until they looked at the receipt. They were charged $6 for supposedly non-alcoholic drinks.

"Right then, I told [the waitress] that we had a problem because you served two 4 year-olds, and one of them is extremely intoxicated," Weatherford said.

The women contacted police and Goins' son was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.

Police say a waitress accidentally pressed the wrong button for the drinks which caused the boys to be served alcoholic drinks. No charges were filed because police believed it was not intentional.

Goins and Weatherford say employees from the restaurant contacted them to inquire about the boys.  Both mothers say the want to see a change in place to keep this from happening again.

"Something needs to be done so that it doesn't happen to another child, where they die", Goins said.

There is one thing that will keep this from happening again...don't order virgin drinks for small children.  Is a virgin daiquiri an appropriate treat for 4 year-olds? Does it teach them to drink alcohol?  What do you think?

Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

Couple Arrested for Stealing Luggage

If you are a frequent flier, your luggage has probably been misplaced, delayed, or lost at some point.  But maybe the airline wasn't responsible for your loss, especially if you've flown in or out of a  South Florida airport.

Photo Credit:  Broward County Sheriff's Office
Sean Maxwell, 44 and Lorina Flint, 42 have been married since 1999.  They worked together to steal luggage off baggage carousels at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FTL) and Miami International Airport on several different occasions.

In each incident, Maxwell, well dressed, was captured on video "blending in" with passengers in the luggage areas. He  loaded luggage on a push cart and exited the terminal.

Flyers with Maxwell's picture were given to employees at the airports and on Sunday morning it paid off.  An employee at FTL recognized Maxwell.  Alerted by the employee, the deputy recognized Maxwell from the flyers and noticed he acted nervous and was sweating.

Maxwell stole some luggage and was placing it in a  black Jeep Grand Cherokee when the sheriffs deputy approached him.

Flint was the driver of the Cherokee.  The deputy asked to see Flint's drivers license and registration.  She told him the Grand Cherokee was a rental.  The tag number on the rental contract and the tag on the vehicle did not match.  The deputy said the tag on the car was "very obviously altered with stickers".

When asked why she was at the airport, Flint became nervous and stuttered. She first said she was at the airport to pick up her husband, but she later changed her story and said she was there to pick up her husband's friend.

While the deputy was questioning her, he noticed a large red suitcase in the back of the vehicle and another smaller red suitcase in the back seat along with toiletry bags, shoes, flat irons, toothbrushes and other travel items in plain view.  When the Jeep was searched, found were six prescription bottles, labels scraped off, containing opiates and amphetamines.

The deputy did a teletype of Flint and learned she had a warrant our in Georgia, her NV drivers license was expired and her Florida license was suspended. Maxwell also had two warrants; one in S.D. and another in Dade County Florida.

Obviously, stealing luggage is fairly easy and very stupid. Did they think the victims wouldn't complain to airport authorities and that authorities wouldn't watch the security video. They targeted the same two airports, more than once which made it easy to set a trap for them.

Currently, they are both in jail. Maxwell has ten charges which include fraud and grand theft and his bond is $115,075 (that's an odd number). Flint has eight charges and her bond is $25,000.

According to authorities, Flint said they couldn't afford a lawyer or to bond themselves out of jail. They should stay in jail until their court date. Otherwise, these two would probably go back to stealing luggage from the same two airports.

Sitting in jail is just what they deserve; who cares if they couldn't afford bail...sadly, their eight children. Yes, there are eight children whose parents will probably be in jail for some time. Hopefully, there is family to take care of them.

Peace

Guy Robs Five Restaurants in Three Hours

A guy from Florida went on a real crime spree in Broward County. On April 17 at 11:30 p.m., he began his spree with the China Chief Restaurant in North Lauderdale.

He gained entrance by throwing an object through the glass door. He stole money from the cash register and left the restaurant.

Approximately thirty minutes later, someone matching the same description, broke into a Tamarac restaurant. Before he was done, he burgled two more Tamarac restaurants and one in Oakland Park.

Police just released this surveillance video a few days ago.

The suspect was wearing a ski mask and gloves and carrying a backpack.

The burglar took money from all five restaurants and even took flat screen televisions from some restaurants. Four of the five restaurants were Asian.

The same guy is suspected of fifteen or more burglaries in Broward County.

Weird Disguise

In January of this year, Tazviona Maluge Bhebe, 40, robbed a liquor store in London. In April Bhebe pleaded guilty to robbery and possession of a knife. On May 1, he was sentenced to three years in prison.

During the robbery, Bhebe threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded money.  The clerk jumped the counter, grabbed a sign and hit Bhebe which caused him to lose his disguise...a pair of boxer shorts..over his head.  Bhebe ran from the store and left the area.

It was a poor disguise...you can see part of his face with the boxers on his head. So was this a spur of the moment idea where he removed his boxers to use as a disguise or was it planned and he actually brought along the boxers to use as a disguise.

Police identifed him from the security video in the liquor store and....from the DNA removed from the boxer shorts he left behind.

Grandparents Tow Child in Plastic Car Behind SUV

Sarasota County Jail
It was a nice, sunny Sunday afternoon and Paul Berloni, 49, and Belinda Jean Berloni, 47, of Florida decided to take their granddaughter out for some fun.

Paul and Belinda got into their SUV and their 7 year-old granddaughter got into her plastic Hot Wheels car and off they went...towing the Hot Wheels car behind the SUV with their granddaughter inside. The child was wearing a bathing suit and no protective gear, whatsoever.

The Hot Wheels car was attached to the SUV with two dog leashes.  They were having a merry old time until they were spotted and stopped by a sheriff's deputy. The Hot Wheels car was traveling between 5-10 miles per hour.

Photo:  Sarasota County Sheriff's Office
The Deputy immediately noticed Paul reeked of alcohol, his eyes were watery and bloodshot.

When the deputy asked for his drivers license, Paul's speech was slurred and the spoke slowly when he said it was "revoked for 10 years for DUI".

Belinda was riding in the back of the SUV with the hatch open, cheering on her granddaughter.

Belinda, also drunk, told the deputy "it was dangerous to drag a child behind the vehicle", but "they were just having fun and had been doing this all day."

Photo: Sarasota County Sheriff's Office

The fun is over for the Berlonis...they were taken to jail.  They were charged with one count of child endangerment. Paul is also charged with DUI and driving with a suspended license.

Police say Paul refused a field sobriety test, and also refused a blood alcohol test once they reached the police station.

These two should never be allowed near another child or another vehicle until they get treatment for alcohol abuse. Paul said he has been arrested five times for DUI; however, police could only find three convictions, including this one.

The police report indicates they were driving on a service road...thank goodness for small favors. What they did was totally stupid and irresponsible.

The child's father, Justin Oetting, agrees.  The officer contacted him and when he arrived, he was verbally upset.  I completely agree with his statement to his mom, "Are you fucking stupid you should know better."

Peace

Weapons: Fire and Gasoline

Photo:  Sarasota County Jail
On Sunday, April 15, a Sarasota woman was awakened around 3:15 a.m. by her dog. She saw a woman climbing through a broken window into her house.

The intruder, Carol Renee Jordan, had a gallon-size can and was pouring gasoline around.

According to the resident, Jordan said she intended to set her house on fire. She told Jordan to leave her house. She called police and followed Jordan until she was detained by police.

The resident said she recognized Jordan because she had previously thrown rocks at her house to break her windows.

Jordan lives in the 1700 block of 23rd street in Sarasota. The house she attempted to set on fire is in the 21st block of Osprey Avenue. Another woman, who lives in the 1700 block of of 22nd street, accuses Jordan of throwing beer bottles and flower pots at her home to break windows.

Carol Renee Jordan, 52 years-old,  is charged with arson, burglary and throwing a missile into a dwelling.

Does she choose these people randomly or does she know them and hold a grudge against them.  Police should watch her in jail because she really wants to set something on fire...something!

An Austin, Texas man got into the bathtub to wait for his wife to come in and give him a massage. There was candlelight to set the mood.

When Shriya Biman Patel came through the door, it was not to give him a massage.  She poured gasoline over him, lit him on fire using a candle, then locked the bathroom door.

Neighbors called police to the apartment about 9:15 in the evening when they heard a man screaming for help from a balcony.

He managed to kick in the bathroom door and escape, but police said he was badly burned and in severe pain. The victim has burns on over 70% of his body. He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Patel, 25 years-old, and her husband were married for a year, but she only came to the U.S. from India a week ago. She kept herself busy during that week. According to police, she removed the smoke detectors and disabled the sprinklers in the apartment. Police also found receipts for items used in the assault.

Reports don't say how police caught her, but she was taken to jail and charged with arson and assault with a deadly weapon. Bond is set at $l,000,000.

What did he do in a week to make her commit such a horrific act? Or, maybe it was what she found out he did while she was in India.

Who's Y'ur Daddy?

Florida is in the news again with another strange 911 call. David McGuirk, 41, called 911 not once, but eight times.

He told the 911 dispatcher that police in DeLand were bothering him and he was only trying to "proclaim the love of Jesus" and asked "how that was going to get him arrested for abuse" of the 911 system.

At one point, he told the 911 dispatcher that he was her daddy.  He said Jesus is his son and he was her father. He said his wife was disappointed, but did not explain why.

McGurik quickly learned how calling 911 eight times could get him arrested.

When police found McGuirk, he was drinking a Natural Ice beer on Howry Avenue. They asked the 911 dispatcher to call the number back and it began to ring on McGurik's person.

Listen to one of the 911 calls here.

Police arrested McGuirk and charged him with misuse of a wireless 911 system. Fortunately for him, he can call on his son for bail money and an attorney.

Is that a tattoo on his head or a bad hair transplant?

UPDATE: Woman Buried Husband in Herb Garden - Arrested

This is an update to the story, "Woman Buried Husband in Herb Garden" posted on April 2, 2012 on this blog.

Barbara Scott has been charged with murder in the death of Benny Scott.

Before and during the investigation, Scott changed her story several times and she also added details to her story several times.

First, she said Benny fell in the shower; then, she found him on the floor in the shower with a gun; she later "remembered" she tied his hands and feet before burying him; she later said she wrapped Benny's body in a tarp. Finally, she said she placed a plastic bag over his head before burying him.

Police say a witness said Scott "had expressed disdain about always having to care for her husband, according to the report. Scott also had said she was also tired of her husband always wanting and needing her assistance."

Authorities say Benny Scott died from a bullet to the back of his head and his death is ruled a homicide.

Roadside Dumping

A Florida woman was driving Northbound on a busy interstate highway when nature called.  She pulled over, got out of her car and left the car door open.  She squatted beside the highway with nothing shielding her from Northbound traffic and pooped beside the highway.

A Florida Highway Patrol Officer noticed her car pulled over beside the Northbound lanes of I-95 in Port St. Lucie County.  The officer went to investigate and found Melissa Mansfield squatting by her car.

Trooper P. E. Oneyear asked Mansfield what she was doing.  She responded, "I am going to the bathroom".  He asked her for her driver's license and she said she did not have it with her.

She appeared very nervous and was slow responding when Trooper Oneyear asked her for her name and address information.  He ran her name through the databases for Florida and Georgia and could find no license for the name she gave the Trooper.

There is more...Trooper Oneyear ran the car tags and got a hit...the car was listed as stolen from Key West, Florida.  Mansfield told the Trooper she was driving from the Keys and then told him, "I'm not trying [to] go to jail tonight". She said it was her boyfriend's car, but could not provide his name.

The Trooper asked dispatch to contact the owner of the car to see if they knew Mansfield.  The owner said he did not know Mansfield.  He said he left his car outside his home while he ran in briefly and when he returned, his car was gone.

That's not all...while checking her car, the Officer found empty beer bottles on the front passenger seat and on the floor that were still cold.

Trooper Oneyear arrested Mansfield and took her to the Port St. Lucie County Jail.  She is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, indecent exposure and driving without a valid license.

Mansfield could have avoided all this trouble if she had not pooped beside the highway, leaving herself exposed to southbound traffic.  But, nature called...and she answered.

Peace

Petty Thief Posts Evidence On Facebook

Someone posted a picture of Steven Mulhall, holding a nameplate stolen from Judge Michael Orlando's courtroom, on his girlfriend's Facebook page. Police say Mulhall pried the nameplate off the wall outside the judge's courtroom while he was at the courthouse with his girlfriend, Natalie 'ComaToze' Segura, in late February.

Someone saw the picture on Facebook and contacted police with the suspect's name, home address and Facebook information.  Police took him into custody at his apartment.

At the jail, Mulhall spoke with Natalie on his cell phone. He told her to delete the Facebook pictures. However, he changed his mind when he learned she could be charged with tampering with evidence.

Mulhall denied stealing the nameplate and said he found it as he was leaving the courthouse.

After his arrest, Natalie was quite upset....upset enough to make these posts to her Facebook page:

"Miss Segura, who describes herself on her Facebook page as a 21-year-old customer service representative for Pizza Hut, was so infuriated by her boyfriend’s arrest that she began posting her own comments, calling Mulhall her 'lifee' and demanding his immediate release.
'Free my motherf**king lifee or i swear to f**king god i will do the impossible to make you pigs PERSONALLY deliver him baqk to mee,' she wrote
Another post reads: 'It ain't my fault bt trouble just seems to follow mee.'
'I need you back babee. I need you hereee, I promise i'm going to do the impossible to get you baqk, even if tht means building a f**kin tunnel in your cell & tunning you out.'  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2112561/Idiot-thief-steals-judge-s-nameplate-poses-Facebook.html#ixzz1ojYjbUqL
It's not surprising Mulhall denied stealing the nameplate.  After all, the news reports stated police had no idea who stole the plate until the tip about the Facebook page.

Such a silly stunt that could get him more time behind bars.

Man Arrested Forty Times; Woman Arrested Forty-One Times

Stephen Brewster, a 32 year-old Sarasota, Florida man, has been arrested forty times!  His latest arrest on February 21, for car burglary, made arrest number forty.

His rap sheet includes arrests for fraud, stealing credit cards, criminal mischief, forgery, robbery, petty theft, loitering, grand theft...and that's only a portion of his arrests.

Sheriff Tom Knight says, "If anybody out there has the answers, we would like to have it. Because we're frustrated, too, with arresting the same people over and over and over again."

Photobucket

In another story, Lisa Riley, 49, of Gainesville, Florida, was arrested February 19 and her rap sheets indicates this is her forty-first arrest for fifty-five crimes!  Her latest arrest was for stealing merchandise worth $76.83 from a Dollar General Store.

According to Florida Department of Corrections records, Riley has served 4 state terms since 1988 and was last released in 2005.

Their arrest records are since adulthood which means Brewster has been arrested forty-one times in fourteen years.  Riley has fifty-five arrests in thirty-one years.

Florida must have laws that deal with habitual misdemeanor criminals. So why are the judges letting them off so easily?

I can understand Sheriff Knight's frustration. Repeat criminals waste the State's time and resources.  Maybe the State should change the laws to make it a felony after so many arrests.

Man Masturbating At Beach Gets Attention Making Animal Noises

Police in Lee County, Florida were at Bonita Beach Park investigating numerous complaints of a man masturbating on the beach. He would make animal noises from the brush and then expose himself when he got the attention of women and children.

While police were at Bonita Beach, they received a call about a man in the bushes, north of beach access 6, masturbating.  Then police went to beach access 6 and saw a man, who matched the description of the suspect, riding a bike.

Police followed the man on the bike to an abandoned home.  After detaining him, they determined he was the same suspect from Bonita Beach Park.  Park and Rec employees from Bonita Beach came to the scene and identified the suspect.

The suspect, Miguel Angel Rivera Flores, is an illegal immigrant from El Salvador. He was arrested for loitering/prowling and has already bonded out of jail (and he is probably on his way back to El Salvador or some other place to continue his perversion).

You Don't Always Get What You Pay For

Adrian Baltierra, 51, of Bradenton, Florida was arrested in a prostitution sting Thursday.  Baltierra approached an undercover officer, acting as a prostitute, in an area well known for prostitution.

Bet Baltierra was surprised when he was arrested...he wasn't even trying to buy sex...he just wanted to smell...her va-jay-jay. Baltierra said he had a strong desire to "smell p***y" and he offered $15 for the pleasure.

Of course, police arrested him immediately. He was taken to the Manatee County Jail and charged with soliciting prostitution.

Poor Baltierra...he had a strong desire and he didn't get what he paid for...a sniff. Probably why he looks so sad.

Who's Cooking!

If you woke up in the middle of the night and smelled smoke, you would think it was a fire...right? That's what a Florida woman thought when she was awakened at 4 am by the smell of smoke.

She ran from her bedroom to investigate and found her kitchen was engulfed in smoke...and there was a strange man cooking in her kitchen!
Photobucket
Apparently, he took several frozen food entrees from the refrigerator freezer and was cooking them, but not in the oven.  He was cooking them on the stove top, still in the original packaging.

Not sure how he was able to breathe in a room full of smoke, but he was still cooking.

As you may suspect, she screamed and ran back to her bedroom to call 911.

The man in her kitchen was David Kurlin, 41, from Neptune Beach, Florida.  Kurlin decided to leave after hearing her scream (poor guy, he never got to eat).
A neighbor saw Kurlin leaving the woman's home and confronted him.  I guess Kurlin decided to buy himself some food because he had the woman's purse on his shoulder!

When police caught Kurlin, he still had the woman's purse...still on his shoulder.

Kurlin told police he was having a party with five or six other people and when they left, he decided to cook. Guess he left out the part where he decided to cook in someone else's kitchen.

Kurlin got into the house through the doggy door by breaking off the plastic cover.  Ummm...wonder where the dog was.

Ok, people...listen up!  If you haven't heard it before, doggy doors are an invitation to criminals.  So be safer and remove them.

Psssst!..Florida woman...get a watch dog!

Judge Orders "Date" in Domestic Violence Case

Joseph Bray of Plantation, Florida came home and didn't wish his wife happy birthday.  They got into an argument and Bray pushed his wife onto the couch, put his hand on her neck and "he held up his fist to hit her, but never struck her".

Bray appeared in court this week to face the domestic violence charge.

This is Judge John "Jay" Hurley's order:
"He’s going to stop by somewhere and he’s going to get some flowers,” Judge John “Jay” Hurley said during the first appearance hearing. “And then he’s going to go home, pick up his wife, get dressed, take her to Red Lobster. And then after they have Red Lobster, they’re going to go bowling.”
 The Judge continues:
“It was a minor incident, in the court’s opinion,” he said. “The court would not normally do that if the court felt there was some violence but this is very, very minor and the court felt that that was a better resolution than other alternatives.”  Hurley asked her is she was hurt or in any fear of her husband. After she said she wasn't, and Hurley confirmed that Bray had no prior arrests, the judge continued his questioning with a lighter tone."
“Do you have something you like to go to?” he asked. “Is there a restaurant you like to go to?” The woman answered that she enjoyed bowling and eating at Red Lobster. And so the judge made his decision accordingly. “Flowers, birthday card, Red Lobster, bowling,” Hurley said. He also ordered that the couple begin seeing a marriage counselor within a week."
Judge Hurley and the media seem to find this story amusing, but there is nothing funny about domestic violence.

If she is truly a battered woman, does the Judge really expect her to say in open court that she is...and that she is afraid of her husband?  It's well known that domestic violence victims deny the abuse because they are afraid of the abuser.

The fact that he started to hit her makes it apparent Bray has anger issues.  Just because he has no previous record doesn't necessarily mean he isn't an abuser. He stopped just short of hitting her this time, but neither of them may be as lucky next time.

Bray definitely needs counseling, but Judge Hurley's order for couple counseling makes it clear he believes Bray's wife is equally responsible for the violence committed against her.

It is no surprise many victims of domestic violence don't speak out about the abuse, especially in light of a ruling like this one.  Unfortunately, the victims always seem to get blamed while the courts protect the abusers.

Judge Hurley and the media are attempting to trivialize this case by using a "lighter tone".  Hurley's ruling is an insult and a slap in the face to victims of domestic violence everywhere.

Teen Impersonates a Police Officer

A Miami teen is at it again.  Matthew Scheidt, 18 years-old, who was arrested last year for impersonating a physicians assistant, is in police custody yet again...this time for impersonating a police officer.

According to police, Matthew was driving a car similar to an unmarked police car. He got into a conversation with the driver of another car and suggested the driver put on his seat belt.

The other driver asked if he was a police officer and Matthew said he was. Matthew was driving a white Ford Crown Victoria (everyone knows police use the Crown Victoria...right), speaking police jargon and using a laptop.

Well, little did Matthew know, the other driver was an undercover police officer. The undercover officer actually spotted Matthew driving in Miami Beach and thought he looked suspicious so he started a conversation with him in which Matthew stated he was a police officer.  He didn't recognize Matthew as a police officer so he pulled him over.

So how was he accidentally released from jail?  This might explain why some parts of Florida are infested with crime...the criminals are "accidentally" released.

Matthew, Sr. seems as confused as Matthew is...should he get him psychiatric help...um mm that would be a big YES. Especially since the clip of him speaking was from Matthew's arrest last year!  What is Matthew, Sr. waiting on...maybe for him to actually injure someone?

While pretending to be a physicians assistant last September, he performed CPR on a patient during a cardiac arrest!  It's also reported he interviewed patients, conducted physical exams on male patients, read confidential medical records, and cleaned and dressed wounds. He hasn't appeared in court yet to face charges of five counts of impersonating a physicians assistant.  His court date in this case in March.

He once was a member of the Osceola future law enforcement officers program. But they kicked him out because he continued to wear items that made him appear to be a police officer...including a badge.  Matthew has some serious issues...he apparently doesn't like who he is so he pretends to be someone else.

Matthew has been doing this type of craziness since he was 14 years-old! Hopefully, he will be placed in a facility where he can get long-term psychiatric care.

Man Orders Weed at Burger King

When Burger King says "Have it your way", they surely didn't expect this order.

Two guys in Florida stop at a Burger King drive-thru and jokingly place an order for a “blunt and some herbs”.

When they arrive at the pickup window, a cashier smells a strong scent of marijuana coming from the car window. So she writes down the license plate number and contacts police.

Police run the tags, go to the residence and wait for 32 year-old Shawn Porter to come home...and he does...with his Burger King bag.

Police find 28 grams of marijuana in his car. Authorities charge Porter with drug possession and place him under a $1000 bond.

Looks like the joke is on Porter...and he didn't even get to eat his Burger King order.

Psst...Shawn Porter....come closer. DON'T YOU KNOW THAT DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE KILLS INNOCENT PEOPLE?

Two things he probably won't do in the future...make an inappropriate joke at a drive-thru and eat at that Burger King.

Thumbs up to the cashier.
