Brian Claunch had one arm and one leg and was wheelchair bound. His arm and leg were amputated by a train. During a schizophrenic episode, he laid on the railroad tracks because he believed there was evil on his left side.

When the caretaker made the call to 911, I am sure he was questioned about what was going on and where.  However, police claim they didn't know this was a home for people with mental illness.  When police arrived, they asked the caretaker to "step out of the home".

How much of a threat could Claunch be to anyone who is ambulatory?  Not to mention, there were two police officers with guns!

I’m not up on the latest in wheelchairs, but how was he moving the chair and holding an “object”, that could seriously hurt them, with the same hand?  If it had been a gun or knife, they could have seen it clearly.

Also, how did he manage to “trap” the officer in a corner “where he couldn't get out”?  Did the officer just stand there and wait as the wheelchair approached him?  As a police officer, he should have known what was at his back.  Even when the victim was very close to him, he still couldn't identify the “object”.

Where was the second officer while Claunch was advancing on his partner?  He couldn't identify the “object” either and he is the shooter.  He chose to kill a mentally ill man by shooting him in the head….a man who was only holding a ballpoint pen.

The two officers could have easily taken control of the situation without killing Claunch.  The officer who shot the him should be charged and serve a long prison term.

SMH in disgust!

NOTE:  Daily Insanity is not so "daily" anymore.  It's a busy time for me, but I will be back with strange, crazy, bizarre stories from time to time.

Drunk Woman Leaves Sleeping Baby in Car

Last week, in the early morning, a woman staggered into a tattoo shop in Houston to get a piercing. She wore bedroom slippers, appeared to be drunk....and she was pregnant.

Stephanie Irene Santana, 20, asked how long it would take to get a piercing. Yogi, the tattoo artist responded, "Why would you ask me how long it would take because there is nobody in here?"  "And she said, 'Because I have a baby in the car.' That's when I asked her who's watching the baby. She said nobody, the baby is asleep."

Yogi said he asked her to leave and called the police. When police arrived, they found Santana drumped (drunk and slumped...my creation) over the steering wheel.

According to police, Santana had her 10 month-old in the passenger seat unrestrained, she is seven months pregnant, had Xanax and beer bottles in the car and she was drunk!  Great mom.

Of course, she was handcuffed and arrested; Child Protective Services took the child which is truly a blessing.

Did you notice the sign at Dago's Tattoo Parlor ( at 00:13)? Women get free tattoos and piercings...really? Sounds like a real classy place.

Santana is facing charges of DUI, possession of a controlled substance and child endangerment.

Rather than seeking a body piercing, Santana should find a good seamstress...and sew it up!

Peace

Customers Locked Inside Restaurant for Refusing to Pay Tip

Jasmine Marks and several friends ate at La Fisherman in Houston last week. She says the service was poor, the wait staff was rude, drinks never got refilled and they only received part of the order placed.

When she received the bill, she was shocked to see a 17% gratuity added. She asked to see a manager who stated the policy and said there was nothing she could do.  There were more than five people in her group so the gratuity was automatic.

Jasmine refused to pay the gratuity and she and her friends were locked inside the restaurant until police arrived.

Houston locals commenting on message boards say the restaurant is known for its rude service.

Dan Parsons, President of the Houston Better Business Bureau,  now says the BBB is looking into the incident.  He says what concerns the Bureau is that there was a disagreement over a tip and that the police were called.

Jasmine's position is understandable; however, when the 17% gratuity is posted on the menu and on the door, she is responsible and she did pay the gratuity.

A tip should be earned; not demanded. The on duty manager did admit to the reporter that this has happened before.  Apparently, they haven't made any changes in the way they do business.

A simple fix would be requiring the servers to inform the customers of  the gratuity when they ask for the order of a party of six or more.  Unless they count on people not reading the sign/menu and being forced to pay the gratuity.

Tip for Jasmine:  Read the menu; if there are more than four people in your group, ask about the gratuity.

Tip to La Fisherman:  It is just not good business sense to be rude or call the police on customers over a tip.

Four Bank Robberies in Four Hours

Houston police were on overloaded Saturday when it comes to bank robberies. There were four bank robberies in four hours by different robbers.

Two Wells Fargo branches, a Chase Bank and a Compass Bank were all robbed between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

The first robbery was at a Wells Fargo banch. A man, who said he had a gun, handed the teller a note demanding cash which was given. Police believe this robber cased another bank a few minutes before robbing the Wells Fargo.

At 11:30 a.m., the second robbery occurred at another Wells Fargo branch when two men took over the bank. Dressed in black with their faces covered and armed with guns, they told everyone in the bank to get on the floor. One robber guarded them while the other crossed the counter and took cash.

The third robbery happened at 11:45 a.m. when a lone gunman held a teller at gunpoint and robbed the Compass bank. After he received the money, he fired a shot at the ceiling. The getaway car was a white truck with "Ace" on the back.

The Chase Bank was robbed at 2:30 p.m. by a man who said he had a gun, but never displayed it. A dye pack exploded, but he got a way on foot with cash in his pockets.

Four bank robberies in four hours is not a common occurrence. The Feds believe the two robberies with notes may be connected.

Security cameras captured pictures of the three lone bank robbers and are asking for the public's help in identifying these men. Unable to post the security camera pictures here, but they are very clear. So I don't think these three will be free much longer. Especially since a reward is offered.

These three dumb criminals evidently forgot about security cameras when they robbed the banks wearing only sunglasses and caps as their disguise. Or maybe they are simply drug addicts who needed money for a fix and just did not care at the time.

The second robber got away in a white truck with "Ace" on the back. I got it...he robbed the bank while on his lunch hour from his job at Ace Hardware.

The second robbery by two men seems well organized and this is probably not the first time they robbed a bank.

The fourth robber probably still has some dye on him from the dye pack that exploded.

Four stupid crimes in four hours by two dumb criminals and three dumber criminals.

Weapons: Fire and Gasoline

Photo:  Sarasota County Jail
On Sunday, April 15, a Sarasota woman was awakened around 3:15 a.m. by her dog. She saw a woman climbing through a broken window into her house.

The intruder, Carol Renee Jordan, had a gallon-size can and was pouring gasoline around.

According to the resident, Jordan said she intended to set her house on fire. She told Jordan to leave her house. She called police and followed Jordan until she was detained by police.

The resident said she recognized Jordan because she had previously thrown rocks at her house to break her windows.

Jordan lives in the 1700 block of 23rd street in Sarasota. The house she attempted to set on fire is in the 21st block of Osprey Avenue. Another woman, who lives in the 1700 block of of 22nd street, accuses Jordan of throwing beer bottles and flower pots at her home to break windows.

Carol Renee Jordan, 52 years-old,  is charged with arson, burglary and throwing a missile into a dwelling.

Does she choose these people randomly or does she know them and hold a grudge against them.  Police should watch her in jail because she really wants to set something on fire...something!

An Austin, Texas man got into the bathtub to wait for his wife to come in and give him a massage. There was candlelight to set the mood.

When Shriya Biman Patel came through the door, it was not to give him a massage.  She poured gasoline over him, lit him on fire using a candle, then locked the bathroom door.

Neighbors called police to the apartment about 9:15 in the evening when they heard a man screaming for help from a balcony.

He managed to kick in the bathroom door and escape, but police said he was badly burned and in severe pain. The victim has burns on over 70% of his body. He was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Patel, 25 years-old, and her husband were married for a year, but she only came to the U.S. from India a week ago. She kept herself busy during that week. According to police, she removed the smoke detectors and disabled the sprinklers in the apartment. Police also found receipts for items used in the assault.

Reports don't say how police caught her, but she was taken to jail and charged with arson and assault with a deadly weapon. Bond is set at $l,000,000.

What did he do in a week to make her commit such a horrific act? Or, maybe it was what she found out he did while she was in India.

Child Missing for Eight Years Found

A Houston, Texas mom left her 8 month-old infant son with his godmother, Krystle Rochelle Tanner, who was babysitting for the night.  When she returned the next day, her child and Krystle were missing.  Krystle's parents claimed they did not know where either of them were.

That was eight years ago and just recently the child was found alive.  His mom, Auboni Champion-Morin will soon be reunited with Miguel.  She said she, her husband and the other kids have been praying for Miguel to return home safely.

In the summer of 2011, Tanner took Miguel to the hospital in San Augustine for a leg injury. She "couldn't" give them his social security number or his name. The hospital became suspicious and contacted child welfare officials.

At that time, Tanner told police several lies about why she had the child in her custody. He went by different names and she had been asked to keep him for an extended period of time for a woman that she had met in a park. Gary Cunningham , Chief Deputy of the Sheriff's Department in San Augustine, said she told investigators she did not know the women's last name and had only been given a cell phone to contact her but that the number had since been disconnected.

Child Protective Services and law enforcement in San Augustine were not aware of the kidnapping in Houston in 2004 because Miguel's information was removed from the national missing children database.  Cunningham said they are investigating why the case was closed after two years.

Krystle's relatives made unconfirmed claims that Champion-Morin asked Tanner to keep the baby indefinitely and may have had a written agreement. Police say this further complicated the investigation.

Krystle and her family were not estranged so it's difficult to believe they did not know where she was for eight years.  At least her sister finally did the responsible thing by telling police where he was in Texas.

This is a difficult time for the child, his siblings and parents.  They do not know each other and the child has grown up believing Krystle is his mother. Auboni said she will seek counseling for both of them, but the entire family will probably need counseling.

Left Behind at Chuck E Cheese

A 32 year-old woman in Pearland, Texas went to Chuck E Cheese last Thursday night to celebrate her 5 year-old daughter's birthday.  Her ten children were present along with nine other children.

After the party was over, they left for home around 11:00 that night.  At 8:00 am the next morning, the mother called 911 and said, "I think I left my child at Chuck E Cheese last night. She's five."

Employees found the 5 year-old playing in the restaurant around 11:00 pm. They tried to get information about her mother or where she lived, but the child was unable to help police figure out the identity of her parents. Police placed the child in emergency custody.

It was nine hours after she left Chuck E Cheese before the mom realized her child was missing.  She said she got up to get the children ready for school and noticed the 5 year-old was not there.

The child was later placed in the custody of her grandmother until the mother was investigated.  However, the child is back with her mother at present.

On March 4, another child was left at Chuck E Cheese. Employees contacted police at 8:30 pm to report that a 3 year-old girl, Harmony, was left at Chuck E Cheese in Bel Air, Maryland.  She asked an employee for something to drink and that's when they noticed that she was alone.

Police waited at the restaurant for over an hour and then took Harmony to the Precinct.  Police say Harmony left Chuck E Cheese with a large group of people, but she ran back into the restaurant because she had a token left.

Police couldn't locate her parents so they put her picture on the evening news at 11:00 pm. They received multiple calls, including calls from her parents.

Child Protective Services released Harmony to her mother and no charges are expected to be filed since the mother did not intentionally abandon her. Relieved parents picked her up from the Hartford County Southern Precinct at 11:30 pm that evening.  Harmony's parents share custody and each thought she was with the other.

The parents in both stories gave many reasons why their child was left behind. But, no matter how many reasons, reasons do not excuse their behavior.  A few words exchanged or telephone call to check on the child and this would not have happened.  At the very least, it would have been discovered sooner.

Plug-in, parents and make your children a priority. Watch them more carefully and prepare them for this type situation by teaching them your telephone number, address, full name; any information that would help authorities contact you.

Nude Crime

Way too many people doing crazy things in the nude this month...there must be something in the air.

Early Sunday morning, Taylor Burnham of Corpus Christi, Texas was standing behind a house between the fence and a Jeep. She was wearing her birthday suit and cowboy boots.

When she saw the cops, she got into the Jeep Wrangler and drove off, leading police on a chase...at 30 MPH. The slow-speed chase only lasted 1.5 miles when it ended with her driving on the sidewalk before stopping at an intersection.

Ummm...wonder who else was behind the fence...and if they were naked, too.

Photobucket

Two cars were in an accident around 2 am on February 8 in Beachwood, Ohio. When police arrived, they saw a man running from the Ford Taurus wearing only socks.

The man driving the second car was not injured and drove his car home. The two men in the Ford Taurus were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Police have no idea why the man was nude or if he was driving the Taurus. Could it be the men in the Taurus were involved in a little hanky panky and that's what caused the accident?

Photobucket

Most people like chocolate and so does Anthony Toothman. He broke the front glass of a supermarket in Kentucky and went in dressed only in boots. When police found him, he was lying on the floor covered in chocolate and peanut butter.  Apparently, he wanted to be a Reese's Cup.

He used all the fire extinguishers in the store and wrote on the floor in NyQuil "sorry".

These stories are a few of the strangest of the strange this month.  Most odd is that even though they were all in the nude, they all wore something on their feet.

At least they made it easy for the police...they had nothing to hide.

"Santa's Little Helper"

The Marines' organization, "Toys For Tots", does great work in providing toys to children who otherwise may not get gifts for Christmas.  Around Christmastime, there are always false claims of affiliation with the organization.  However, Robin Jordan's scam takes the award for most offensive and disgusting claim of affiliation.

In an effort to be competitive, Robin Jordan, who's alias is "Shelby" used the "Toys For Tots" program and children to generate business. In her ad, she calls herself "Santa's Little Helper".

She placed this ad on an escort site: "I am currently having a Holiday Special. Book 1 Hour, Bring an unwrapped gift for a boy or girl, and receive 1 Hour Free."

A john who calls himself Wolfhunter, claims she charged him $200/hr and offered a "pathway to utter euphoria and bliss". She also promised to "captivate your mind, and tantalize your senses," and dared customers to "try and Put My Fire out!"

Some may say she was only trying to help kids when she used the Christmas season and "Toys For Tots" to fill her pockets. She has no concern for children; she is a selfish, deplorable person who used a charity to sell her sex services.

There is nothing some people won't do to gain the advantage. With her "Toys for Tricks" promotion, she's innovative if nothing else.

Well, now we know what Santa means when he says,
                                            Ho, Ho, Ho

A Different Kind of "Church"

It must be tough for pimps and prostitutes on the streets these days. They have moved their operation from the streets to "church". However, Alex Averill, owner of the Phoenix Goddess Temple says he is not a pimp. He calls himself a "practitioner" and a "shaman".

What!?! Prostate massages? He hugs women for and hour and a half... seriously? I can't imagine anyone wanting to be hugged for ninety minutes, even for free. He is also exploiting over-weight women, but he wants to cry, now...LOL. He needs acting classes...his attempt at crying is hilarious. The blonde with glasses is surprised they were arrested...what rock has she been living under? Alex and his "parishioners" know, very well, that a "donation" for sex is payment for prostitution.

Unfortunately, Alex is not alone in his strange beliefs...Listen to another "pastor", Glenn Hudson, explain his "church":

Investigators found beds, pornography and condoms inside the building that's supposed to be a church. But Glenn argues that he has a right to run his "churches"; that it's his own form of religion. However, investigators don't agree and closed his operation down on August 3, 2011. The following video is after his court appearance on August 3, 2011. Seems he has seen the light...lol.

With no sign of Bibles, altars, pulpits or pews, these losers insist their operations are churches. Come on, pimps and prostitutes know churches are non-profit organizations with no cover charges or charges for "healing".

These men and their followers have no interest in church or God; they only want to avoid paying taxes. The IRS should be knocking at their doors very soon for a discussion about tax evasion.

So what will they do now? Alex Averill's business was raided and he and his followers detained. Glenn Hudson can't operate another business in Texas. Watch out, one or both may be moving to your city very soon.

Peace
