Man Drives Car Off Cliff to Elude Police

Michael Kheop, 44, decided to flee during a traffic stop.  His wife, Meru, was in the passenger seat and she tried to get him to stop the van. She said she told him everything would be fine.

He told her to get out of the van and began turning the wheel towards the the side of the road.  She opened the door and jumped out just as the van went over a cliff.

The vehicle, with Kheop still inside, continued about 200 feet down the cliff.  By the time rescuers reached the van, Kehop had already disappeared. The van was totally destroyed, but Michael Kheop survived and somehow eluded police. Police continued to search for him.

About five hours later, Ms. Kheop said she heard a knock at the window; it was her husband.  She told him  to turn himself in and not to bring the drama home to the children.

She called police and Michael Kheop was arrested and charged with attempted murder of his wife and car theft.  His bail is $100,000.

Maru Kheop is a great mom and a supportive wife. Apparently she did not know the van was stolen. She tried to get her husband to surrender. When she learned about the car theft from police, she refused to let him in when he returned home and called police.

Mrs. Kehop is an admirable person...she did the right thing for all concerned in this situation.

Naked Man Looks For Job

Saturday, Jose Ayala, 32, went to Del Paso Heights welding shop looking for work; he said he was good with his hands.  He didn't make a very good first impression, though; he was way too casual for a job interview...he was completely naked.

Shop owner, Chris Johnson, ran Ayala outside where he walked around and talked to the clouds. Johnson called police, but Ayala didn't want to go quietly.

He became combative and police wrestled him to the ground. He grabbed hold of the female officer's hair and wouldn't let go.  That's when shop employees helped detain him until backup arrived. Police were finally able to take him into custody.

Wrestling with a naked person must be difficult...like a slippery fish, there isn't much to hold on to.

In his nakedness, you would think Ayala had nothing to hide. But he did...Ayala is an illegal immigrant and he is currently in jail on an immigration hold.  RukRo...can you say deportation.

Also, Police suggested everyone involved in the video get an HIV test. There must have been some blood during the scuffle. Too bad for the shop employees. I hope, for their sake, Ayala doesn't have HIV.

Police believe Ayala was high on methamphetamine.  I am a firm believer that all the naked criminals in the news recently were high on methamphetamine. It causes a lack of impulse control and apparently makes you want to be free so I guess that's why the clothes come off.

The job market is so tight now, maybe Ayala was trying to set himself apart from other applicants. If so, he accomplished that and more.

5th Graders Plot To Poison Teacher

Elementary school children often don't like a particular teacher, but they don't usually try to kill her.  Three fifth graders at Balderas Elementary School in Fresno, California did just that.

Two boys and girl put rat poison in the teacher's coffee, but got nervous and one boy knocked it out of her hand before she could drink it.  They also put rat poison on a cup cake they offered her.

This happened back in December, but it has just come to the attention of authorities.  One kid's mother was bragging about how her kid saved the teacher from drinking the poison.  What he didn't tell her is that he was the one who gave the teacher the coffee laced with rat poison.

These kids freely admitted putting rat poison in the teacher's coffee.  They didn't show remorse or concern that she may have died.

The parent who was bragging about her kid should be charged for not reporting the incident.  She knew how dangerous this situation was and she didn't notify the authorities.  Instead, she complained to the headteacher at the school that her child deserved praise for saving the teacher's life.

That she thought it was appropriate to brag about what her son did and ask for praise, indicates she is the root of his problems. The parent's values, attitudes and beliefs contribute to violence in young children.

Children in fifth grade are old enough to understand what death is and that it is permanent. I don't blame teachers, I wouldn't want them in my class either. Placing these students in an alternative school isn't the answer. They need to be placed in a juvenile detention center where they can get the counseling they so desperately need.

Drive-Thru Wake, Scented Jeans and A Booty Call

Drive By...WHAT?!?

Everyone is so busy these days many businesses provide drive-thru services to customers. But, the strangest  drive-thru must be one in Compton, CA.  This drive-thru allows you to see and pay your respects to the deceased...like a drive-thru wake.

Robert L. Adams Mortuary is owned by Peggy Scott Adams (um..is this the singer?)  Just drive up, drive through the "viewing lane" and wait your turn to morn. Weird way to pay your respects, but with all the gang/mafia violence at some funerals, it's probably safer for mourners.

Scratch and Sniff Jeans

The newest jeans from Canada for men are called Scratch-n-Sniff Raspberry Scented Jeans.

They really smell like raspberry candy when you scratch them. The company claims the smell is still there after five washing. Watch out, girls...guys will probably never wash their jeans now.

Woman Stabs Man Over Booty Call

Erica Wilson, 21 and Jesse Brooks, 32, got into a fight over a booty call. Brooks told Wilson he wanted her and Wilson told him she wanted a relationship and didn't want to be his booty call.

Wilson said Brooks attempted to touch her inappropriately and became irate when she refused his advances. And that's how the fight started...between two first cousins!

Wilson said Brooks got mad at her response and knocked her to the kitchen floor. Wilson defended herself by picking up scissors and stabbing away at Brooks' neck, face, back and arms.

The fight took place in Brooks' home in Rogersville, TN.  Investigators say they both smelled of alcohol.  They told officers they had been drinking Everclear.  For those who don't know, Everclear is pure grain alcohol and it comes in two strengths:  151 proof and 190 proof bottles. It's a favorite of heavy drinkers.

Wilson drank a quarter bottle and Brooks drank a half bottle of Everclear.  Since police could not determine the aggressor, both were arrested.

First cousins...so grateful they didn't procreate!

Note:  It is legal to marry your first cousin in 20 states in the US...how crazy is this?!

$500,000 Worth of Treasure Found in Storage Unit

Recently, I've seen lots of ads and signs advertising storage unit auctions. I always thought most people only left junk that they and no one else wanted.

John, who only wants to be identified by his first name, went to an auction at a storage facility. American Auctioneers, Dan and Laura Dodson of the television show, “Storage Wars” held the auction. Up for auction, are units that are, at least, three months behind in rental payments. Potential bidders are allowed to look into the storage units, from outside, for five minutes before bidding begins.

John bid on a unit and won with his bid of $1,100. Sorting through the things in the unit, he discovered a few gold bars, several silver bars and rare coins in a Rubbermaid container. His treasure is estimated at $500,000! The container was very heavy; it took three men to carry it.

Sources say an expert evaluated the treasure and described it as “Pieces of Eight Spanish Gold”. It’s believed the coins are dated between the 16th and 19th century.

According to reports, an elderly woman, recently deceased, owned the unit. Auctioneers are required to post a notice in the newspaper before auctioning the unit. I wonder if she has family who may not have known about the storage unit or seen the newspaper notice.

Too bad the Dotsons didn't have a camera crew there for this find...would have made a great episode for "Storage Wars". Although Dan and Laura Dotson say they are happy for John, I'm sure they wished they had known what was in that storage unit.

I will certainly pay more attention to storage unit auctions in the future. You never know...

Help, I'm Stuck and I Can't Get Free!

This week, two California men are in the news for getting stuck (separately) in weird places. Their names haven't been released (I wonder why...lol).

A 21-year-old Vallejo, CA man spent the night at Blue Rock Springs Park stuck in a swing made for a baby (similar to the one pictured). It's reported that at about 9 p.m., on October 21, 2011, he was hanging out with his friends when they bet him $100 that he couldn't get into the swing.  So, he lubricated his legs with laundry detergent (where did he get laundry detergent?) and was able to get into the swing.  But, when he discovered he could not get out, his "friends" left him there where he was trapped for nine hours. A groundskeeper heard him screaming around 6:00 a.m. on Saturday and contacted authorities.  Firefighters used a cast cutter to free his legs from the seat and he was transported to an area hospital, suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

In Laguna Hills, CA, a man was found stuck in a hollow yesterday. Deputies followed his screams down a creek bed and located him up to his chest in the hollow tree.

It took firefighters ninety minutes to rescue him, but they have no clue why he was in the hollow tree which went down 4-5 feet underground. I would hide my face, too.

Because of these men getting into these silly situations, the cities' valuable time and resources were wasted. Authorities should require each man to pay the cost of rescue in full. If they pay for stupidity, maybe they will think twice before doing something so silly in the future.

At least, the 21-year-old accepted a bet; stupid, but understandable. He really needs some new friends. The man stuck in the tree is obviously older and should know better. Maybe, it's a "man" thing; however, neither of them had trouble screaming like girls once they were stuck.

SMH...You really couldn't make this stuff up...lol.

Stealing Electricity

You're relaxing watching television when you hear a loud boom sound...television and lights go out.  A transformer just blew.  What caused it?

A man and his juvenile daughter....

See the video below:

Check out this great MSN video: Man and Daughter Burned While Allegedly Stealing Electricity

Stealing electricity is a desperate act, but not very smart. They live in a camper so maybe they fell on hard times...who knows? They are both in critical condition, but very lucky they weren't electrocuted.

The father, no matter how desperate, is at fault for endangering the life of his underage daughter. I'm sure she agreed to help because she loves him. I guess Tom Russell is right when he says love is like stealing electricity.

(In father's voice) Memo to self:  stealing electricity will burn, maim and/or kill me!
