2 Year-Old Drives Family's SUV

An SUV rolled down the steep driveway of a Rock Hill, SC home last Sunday about 4 p.m.  The Chevy Tahoe rolled across five lanes of traffic, hit a ditch and ended up on its side.

A next-door neighbor said, "I saw the car rolling back, then it flipped...and then I saw a baby."

An unidentified witness helped the child from the car and held her until police arrived.

Police and EMS arrived and the 2 year-old girl was checked for injuries; surprisingly, she was uninjured.  Police were pretty sure the car and the baby came from the same house...the house across the street with the door open.

They took the toddler and went to the house and eventually upstairs to the parents bedroom.  Police found the television on and the parents sleeping.  The officer could not wake them up until he banged, loudly, on the bedroom wall.

The 2 year-old toddler's mom, Amy Patty, is upset at "all of you [media] coming here because people will think I'm a bad mother."  She said she is also upset because her daughter "could have died".

Patty said she got home from work around 2:30 p.m. and she and her husband fell asleep. She said she thought the car keys were on a hook in her kitchen and that the 2 year-old must have gotten the keys.

It's reported elsewhere the parents said there daughter was watching cartoons when they fell asleep.

There are so many questions and so few answers.  How did a 2 year-old get keys from the hook in the kitchen, open the door to the house, open the car door, get into the SUV, and take it out of gear?  Were the car keys found in the ignition?  Why weren't the bedroom and front doors locked?  How long had they been really been asleep?  Why were they sleeping so soundly in the afternoon?

No way a 2 year-old did this.  Even if she somehow managed to get inside the Chevy Tahoe, how would she depress the brake to get the car out of gear?

Maybe one or both parents came home...intoxicated, left the keys in the car and the car door open.  Then went upstairs and "fell asleep".  This is one scenario, but it's only speculation.

Regardless of how it happened, the parents are at fault.  They should have made sure the child and the home were secure so an inquisitive toddler could not get out.  Taking a nap in the afternoon with a 2 year-old up and moving around is completely irresponsible.  Both parents should be charged with neglect.

Until more information is available and unless you believe in the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy, this story is totally

Peace

Fight Over Who Gets Most Sex and Nap Time at the Drive-Thru

Who Gets the Most Sex

Greenwood City Police Department
Two South Carolina men were riding in a PT Cruiser after leaving a party.  They got into an argument in the backseat of the car and one stabbed the other in the ribs.

The victim, bleeding profusely, was taken to a hospital and interviewed there by police.

Calvin Bernard Hill is accused of stabbing his acquaintance in the ribs when they argued over who has the most sex.

When questioned, Hill said the victim stabbed himself.  The female driver of the vehicle said Hill stabbed the victim and then threw away the knife.  Hill told her, "I can't go down for this", but he did.

Hill was arrested on felony battery charges. He is a guest of the Greenville County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.

Most likely, neither of them were getting any sex...they wouldn't need to brag about it if they were.  It may be a while before Hill can brag about his sexual prowess with women again.

Nap Time at the Drive-Thru

Dustin Kody Galloway, 20,  went to a McDonald's drive-thru window in Fort Mills, South Carolina.

While placing his order, at some point between the Big Mac and Fries, he passed out, slumped over the wheel.

Galloway didn't hear employees speaking to him and so he continued napping until police arrived.

A police officer found him still slumped over the steering wheel when he got there. He woke Galloway and noticed the smell of alcohol... (Nooo..) and his eyes were bloodshot, too.

Galloway wasn't alone in the car...he had a passenger who police detained. Police say the passenger was sluggish and couldn't stand up. (Don't take him out of the car!)  As the police officer tried to assist him out of the car, the passenger thanked him by  vomiting...all over the place.  I imagine the officer needed a change of uniform after this call.

Galloway was charged with DUI and because the legal drinking age is 21, he was also charged with "minor in possession". The passenger was taken to Piedmont Hospital to receive treatment for alcohol poisoning.

The report doesn't mention if the passenger was sleeping, but I'm guessing he was asleep.  Did Galloway keep his foot on the brake while he was passed out or did he turn the ignition off at the drive-thru?  I hope it was the latter, but not likely.

I once saw a person at a traffic light fast asleep.  The car was in drive and he had his foot on the brake.  He stayed this way for over ten minutes until the police arrived.

Peace

City Hall, Cheeseburgers and a Fork

Visitors to City Hall are usually there to take care of some city business or to get married.  A Rock Hill, South Carolina couple had a different idea.

On Thursday afternoon, Police got a call about someone smoking marijuana. The arrived at the scene, City Hall, around 2:50 p.m.

The officers noticed a couple on one of the swings in the courtyard.  They went to speak with them and noticed they were having sex on the swing.

Danielle Dewberry, 20 and Amin Jenkins, 39 were charged with indecent exposure.  Dewberry was also charged with possession of marijuana; cops found it on her during the search.

How crazy is it to have sex and smoke weed on the grounds of City Hall!  They should have gone to the police station and made it easier for everyone. Why is she having sex with a man almost twice her age?  Could this be prostitution? Either way, they have certainly given new meaning to the term "swinging couple".

Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger! Two brothers got into an argument in Rock Hill, SC and police were called to the residence.  The victim said his 33 year-old brother assaulted him and they were "up in each other's faces".  One brother had a cut on his hand and the other a scratch on his arm.

The "victim" said he ate his brother's two cheeseburgers and his brother got angry...and that's how the fight started.

There were two women at the residence who said they did not see the assault.

The 33 year-old was arrested on a pending charge from another county. Let's hope he enjoyed the cheeseburgers as it may be a while before he eats out again.

On Friday morning, a Columbia, SC woman and man were shopping at Wal-mart when they got into a heated argument.

During the verbal exchange, Jeancia Thompson stabbed him in the neck several times with a fork.

Police were called and her companion was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Thompson was arrested by police and taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Since they weren't shopping in silverware, it's not clear where Thompson got the fork.  But, she stuck a fork in him and now she is done.

Peace

Too Late for Crying Now

When Summerville, SC paramedics responded to a 911 call on November 3, 2009, they found 3 year-old Serenity Richardson in full cardiac arrest. Paramedics took her to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Serenity was in Erica Butts' care when she died. Serenity was to stay with Erica Butts and her live-in lover, Shanita Cunningham, at their home for two weeks. Butts and Ms. Richardson were long-time best friends and Butts is Serenity's godmother. Ms. Richardson was moving from Detroit to South Carolina and left Serenity with Butts while she was relocating.

Erica Butts told police she beat Serenity multiple times with a belt (it's also reported they used wire hangers to beat the child) because she urinated on the floor. Butts also told authorities Serenity hit her head falling in the bathroom multiple times and her breathing became shallow thirty minutes after the last fall. When Serenity became unresponsive, Butts and Cunningham put "bleach under her nose and they put ice on her to try to revive her". Butts called her mother who called 911. Cunningham fled the home before paramedics arrived.

At the hospital, doctors found cuts and bruises on Serenity's chest, back, stomach, legs, arms and feet. She had a golf ball size bruise on her head and on her right leg, a large burn mark. An autopsy determined the cause of death as "full body blunt force trauma".

Butts and Cunningham were arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse. Their excuse -- "we didn't know what we did would kill her". The judge later stated the photographs of Serenity were horrific. It's reported the prosecutor said this was the worst case of abuse she had encountered in all her years prosecuting crimes against special victims.

On November 3, 2011, Butts and Cunningham were sentenced to life in prison and they disrupted the courtroom with their outbursts.

Drama queens...screaming, falling to the floor and needing assistance to leave the courtroom...I don't buy it! You would think they never considered they may get the death penalty! These two take their punishment like the cowardly women they are; they weren't crying when they were abusing Serenity. They got just what they deserve; life in prison will be hell for these child abusers and child murderers.

Finally, justice for Serenity. Rest in peace, sweet child.

Peace
