Yep...all prepared for burial and in a coffin.
People store all sorts of things in storage units, but a dead body in a coffin! I imagine the granddaughter must have asked her mom why Grandma was in a storage unit...that would be my first question. If she knows, apparently she is not sharing it.
According to one report:
Even after 25 years in a storage facility, grandma receives an indigent burial. Why wouldn't they bury her? It's much less expensive to bury her than to keep her in a storage unit for 25 years. Maybe they didn't have enough money, at any one time, to buy a final resting place for Grandma and so...it was cheaper to keep her.Police said the remains will be taken to A Life Tribute, which provides indigent burials from chapels in Largo and Gulfport."There are More Important Things in Life," the chapels' website states, "than High-Priced Funerals."Drew Harwell can be reached at (727) 445-4170 or dharwell@tampabay.com.
