Postal Employee Hoards Other People's Mail

Most of us are aware of hoarding, especially since the television show "Hoarders" premiered. Hoarders excessively collect stuff and they are unable to throw any of this stuff away. They collect all types of items, but I think this is the strangest story of hoarding I've ever heard.

Karen Sanford, a 72-year-old postal worker, admits to hoarding thousands of pieces of junk mail. Her home is full and she has storage units full as well. Her boss became suspicious when bulk mail began collecting in her office. He asked if she had more and she confessed.

She's been stealing bulk mail for 10 years! She says she only took mail that was of no value and people would just throw away the bulk mail anyway. I guess she didn't know tampering with the mail is a federal crime.

She's right...most people do discard junk mail. Although, when my daughter was very young, she wanted to get mail too, so she claimed all the mail addressed to resident or occupant...lol

Some people may want junk mail, but most people will say she did us a favor. I wish she worked at my post office.

Ms. Sanford needs help for her hoarding issues; she does't need to go to jail.

Is the postal service required to now deliver all that junk mail? Let's hope not.

Peace
