Faking a Relative's Death

What's up with people faking a relative's death to get time off work? It seems there is absolutely nothing some people won't do.

Scott Bennett didn't have a problem faking his mother's death.  He wrote her obituary, submitted it to the newspaper and the newspaper published it.

I can imagine Scott's mother thought she was hearing things when she learned her obit was in the newspaper.  She promptly went to the newspaper to let them know she was alive.

Can you just imagine the look on both their faces when she told newspaper employee her name and they told her who placed the obit!  As mothers do, she will forgive him and I hope he apologized to her immediately.

In another story, Joan Barnett also faked a death to get time off from work...her daughter's. She was going on vacation to Costa Rica.  Because the vacation would extend past the children's school break, she forged a death certificate for one of her daughters and presented it to the school.

How anyone could lie about the death of their mother or child is a mystery to me. I wouldn't want to even speak such a thing into being.

Both these people should seriously think about what's most important in life and it isn't time off.

Peace
