There's an App for That

Are you concerned about your teens texting and talking on the cell phone while driving?  Well, you are not alone. Troy Orner of Littleton, Colorado is the father of 8 year-old triplets. He is so concerned about his children driving, in 8 years, that he came up with a great idea.

He began developing the idea two years ago. Now, there is an app for that...it's called "Life Before Text" and you can own it for a one time fee of less than $4.

The "Life Before Text" app automatically turns off the cell phone as long as the user drives above a set speed limit. The user is unable to send text messages, place phone calls, surf the internet or check email. However, the user is able to call 911 emergency.

I know what you're thinking...kids will just turn it off.  Not so fast, if the user deletes or disables the app, an automatic email goes to the parents.

The "Life Before Text" app has just hit the market, but sorry iPhone users, this app cannot be downloaded to your phone.

For more information on the "Life Before Text" app, the website is: http://lifebeforetext.com/

Orner's $20,000 was well spent.  Parents will absolutely love this app and teens will be forced to comply or lose driving and/or phone privileges. Sorry kids, but you will have to park to surf, text and chat.

I love it!

Man Calls 911 Five Times Over Broken iPhone

Sometime before midnight on November 9, Michael Alan Skopec couldn't seem to get his iPhone to dial out...except to call 911...and he did, five times!

Seems Skopec, who lives in Kendall County, Illinois drank just a little too much the evening he called 911.  His inebriated state could be the reason he was having problems with his phone.

He was pretty drunk, but not drunk enough to give his address to the dispatcher. Police traced the calls to Skopec's home and arrested him, but only when he refused to comply with the deputies' orders. He was charged with resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

Skopec is right, he isn't very smart.  He must have been surprised when the police arrived at his home. He should have been charged for tying up the emergency line.

A fews days after his arrest, police released the 911 tapes.

Warning:  The 911 recordings contain foul language.

iPhone says there is an app for almost everything. Well, this one takes the award for weirdest and most dangerous app ever. Take a look at CLOO:

CLOO' from Hillary Young on Vimeo.

Come on, people! What is wrong with bathrooms at Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, McDonalds, etc. What makes it even crazier is that you pay for the privilege.

Why would anyone want some strange person using their bathroom...stopping up the toilet, stinking up the air, and making a mess in the bathroom in general. Leaving behind all types of germs and diseases.

Fortunately, it's only available in New York. Apple is testing the waters to see if anyone would really use it and I guess New York is a good a place as any. No doubt, there are some who will use this app; however, they couldn't pay me enough to clean up afterwards.

There is no way I would allow some random stranger in my home for any reason.

Is this crazy or am I? Would you use this app?
