Tippercanoe County Police Dept. |
She picked it up and realized it was no ordinary air freshener; there was a camera hidden inside. She checked the other two stalls and found air fresheners in both, but only one additional camera.
The three "air fresheners" were plastic, rectangular boxes with homemade "Glade Air-o-matic" stickers; two had been modified to hide the cameras.
Detective Robert Goldsmith said the memory cards from the cameras showed two adult women and one juvenile female using the restroom. On one of the memory cards was a short video in an office area; the hidden camera was turned on, placed inside the box and moved to the restroom.
In mid May, Detective Goldsmith went back to the church to try to match the scene on the video with an actual office space. He spoke with Pastor Robert Lyzenga and told him he wanted to look around. Lyzenga showed Goldsmith several office spaces, but none of the spaces matched the video.
Goldsmith then asked to see his office and Lyzenga was noticeably nervous as he led the Detective inside his office. Lyzenga's office matched the video tape which included a shot of his "Superman" mouse pad.
Lyzanga has been married for 30 years and is the father of three children. He was arrested on May 10 with a primary charge of voyeurism, but the investigation is ongoing. He posted a $5,000 bond and was released. According to church elders, he was immediately fired from his position as lead pastor after his arrest.
Too bad the Sunrise Christian Reform Church couldn't reform Lyzanga. Guess now we should call him "head" pastor.
Peace
