Wife Buried Husband in Herb Garden

For months, Barbara Scott's neighbors and her daughter asked where her husband was. She told them Benny Scott had returned to Oklahoma, where they previously lived, and told relatives in Oklahoma he had throat surgery and could not answer the phone.

Barbara Scott, who lives in Okla, Florida, kept getting her stories of her husband's disappearance more and more twisted until her daughter, who lives across the street, confronted her recently. The next day Scott went to the police station and told police her husband was buried in the back yard. She buried him beneath the oregano, banana peppers and basil in her garden.

In another report, according to Scott's attorney, Rafeal Escherendia, in January she found her husband dead. He said she buried him in the backyard because of the medication she was taking and that "she just made very poor choices on that day".

Her first poor choice was pronouncing him dead; he could have been in a coma. The second poor choice was burying him in the herb garden; it is illegal to dispose of a body that way. The third poor choice was lying to everyone about where he was. Obviously, she continued to make poor choices every day for two months.

All of this makes her very suspect. If he died of natural causes, why would she just bury him in the garden? If there was no foul play, why would she lie to everyone for months? The only way to know for sure is the autopsy report which is expected soon and will show the manner in which he died.

Update: Her attorney gives Scott's account of what happened:

Yes, it is difficult to find a rational excuse for irrational behavior.
