Child Left in Car is Missing

On the morning of November 6, 2011, Julia Biryukova, says she was driving with her 4 year-old daughter and her 2 year-old son. She was taking the son, Sky, to the hospital when the car gave out of gas. She and her 4 year-old walked to a Chevron gas station, about a mile away, leaving Sky in the car. She called a friend for a ride and returned to the car over an hour later. Sky was not in the car. The friend called 911.

Solomon Metalwala, Sky's father, and Julia Biryukova are going through a very nasty divorce. They were in mediation just a few days before Tyler disappeared. They had come to an agreement.

Solomon Metawala agreed to take a polygraph and was sent home after his test was inconclusive. Julia Biryukova refused to take a polygraph test and she hasn't been able to speak with police because she is so distraught. No one, other than Julia, had seen Sky in the two weeks prior to his death.

This is not the first time Sky was left in a car alone. Both parents were with reckless endangerment in 2009 when they left Sky, then 3 months-old, in a car on a 27 degree day while they shopped in Target. They said they didn't want to wake the baby and were only in the store 20 minutes, but according to surveillance cameras, it was almost an hour. They were required to complete parenting classes and community service. Court records show the parents were previously investigated by Child Protective Services.

How could she think leaving him alone in the car was safe? Her story makes no sense; no sane person would leave a 2 year-old in a car and walk a mile away. One or both of the parents know what happened to Sky.

Until Monday,

Peace
