Lawsuit Against Walmart -- Over 2 Cents

Shopping at Wal-Mart could be costing you more than you think.

Mary Bach, Consumer Activist, says Wal-Mart is just not doing it right:

<a href='http://video.app.msn.com/?mkt=en-us&from=&vid=5e453e4f-0d68-4837-8a7e-2d6e4321e8ae' target='_new' title='Woman Sues Wal-Mart For Charging Sales Tax On Full Price Of Discounted Items' >Video: Woman Sues Wal-Mart For Charging Sales Tax On Full Price Of Discounted Items</a>

When I first read this story, I thought it frivolous to sue for 2 cents. I am sure she would have purchased the sausages if they were $1 and not $.98.

However, when you consider if each of Wal-mart's reported 20 million transactions daily were over by two cents, her suit doesn't seem so frivolous. Wal-Mart would make four hundred thousand per day which is almost 20 million a year!

Wal-Mart's explanation about the price change is unacceptable...they should make sure the cash register is capable of differentiating between the packages with the old sale price and the ones with the new price.

We've all read about Wal-Mart's predatory practices and political alliances which damages all of America so I say great job, Ms. Bach!

Next time you shop at Wal-Mart, make sure you check your receipt for this type "mistake" and if you use coupons, check for taxes on the coupon item.

Wal-Mart is a giant corporation, so this suit is one for the little people.

Peace
