Woman Leaves Daughter in a Bar

Eva Cameron drove from Algonquin, Chicago to Caryville, Tennessee with her daughter, but she drove back alone. According to Eva Cameron, Lynn Cameron got out of the car to go to the restroom.  However, rather than waiting for Lynn, Cameron drove off...all the way back to Chicago.

Lynn Cameron, 19, who has the mental capacity of a 2 year-old, was left at The Big Orange Bar with no money, no clothes and no identification. She couldn't tell police her name or address due to her limited vocabulary.

Police circulated her picture in an attempt to identify her.  An Illinois bus driver contacted police in Tennessee on Monday.  He recognized Lynn as one of the students he shuttled to a school for children with development disabilities.

Police contacted Eva Cameron about Lynn and Cameron returned to Caryville Tuesday "to acknowledge abandoning her daughter".

Eva Cameron told Police Chief Johnny Jones she didn't want Lynn and said do with her whatever they wanted.  She told Jones' assistant, "if the state of Tennessee doesn't want her, she'll be Kentucky's problem".

At a hearing on Tuesday, it was determined that no criminal charges are applicable because Lynn is an adult.  The mother is no longer responsible for her and, legally, is not her guardian any longer.

After court, Lynn was placed in the custody of the state of Tennessee.  Eva Cameron left Tennessee, without Lynn, for the second time and drove back to Chicago.

Apparently, Cameron grew tired of taking care of Lynn so she just dropped her off miles away from home, unprotected. Witnesses at the bar said it looked as if Lynn was pushed through the door.

Cameron told police, initially, she stopped at the bar so Lynn could use the restroom. However, security cameras show Lynn used the restroom in a nearby Waffle House.

Cameron later said that her church suggested she take Lynn to Caryville "because it had a large concentration of Baptists". She also said Tennessee "has the No.1 health care system in the United States of America", claiming she wanted the best care for Lynn. She said all the attention to this story was "just a big hoopla out of nothing".

Cameron claims to have other children at home, including another developmentally disabled child. Taking care of one disabled child is difficult and two must be overwhelming. But you don't just throw away your child because you are overwhelmed with taking care of her.

If Cameron wanted the best for Lynn wouldn't that be a facility in her city were Lynn could maintain contact with her family? Her first statements are probably the way she feels; the state of Tennessee can do with Lynn whatever they wish.

The story about Lynn losing her ID is probably another lie...she apparently doesn't want any contact with Lynn. Too bad Cameron can't be charged with a crime in Tennessee, but hopefully, Chicago can find a suitable charge.

Only a heartless person could do this to a child, and she is a child, no matter her size and chronological age.

Toddler Alone, Covered in Feces While Mom Drinks at Bar

Stephanie Davis, 21, of Cummings, Georgia was arrested for DUI about 3 a.m. Friday morning in Roswell, Georgia. She had been at a bar and was speeding 87 mph in a 65 mph zone when Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies pulled her over.

Davis said she had been drinking at a sports bar. Her blood alcohol level was 0.18 which is more than twice the legal driving limit.

She called her mother to say she was in jail. Her mother asked about the baby and Davis said someone was watching her son. Her mom didn't buy her story and contacted Forsyth County Sheriff's office to check on the baby.

Deputies arrived at the home and knocked on the door, but there was no response. They were searching around the outside of the house when they heard a dog barking and a baby crying. Deputies forced their way into the home.

They found the two year-old toddler dressed in only a white t-shirt which was dirty. The toddler had taken his diaper, overloaded with feces, off and threw it on the floor.  His hands, legs and feet were covered in feces.

There was only a mattress and box springs on the floor. The home was "overflowing with trash cans, dirty dishes and rotting food". There were also over 50 bags of garbage. Deputies said the house was filthy and smelled of rotting food, urine and feces.

Deputies found two dogs in the house; one locked inside a cage and the other roaming around loose. Animal Control removed the dogs from the house.

"Deputies on the scene began to clean the feces off of the child and put a clean diaper on him. Because of the disarray of the home, deputies could not tell if the clothes on the floor were clean or dirty. One deputy got clothes and food from his home and gave it to the child, while another went to a local store to get the child something to drink. Deputies said it was clear the child was very hungry." Paxton said."

After the child was removed from the home, deputies noticed bug bites on his legs which they think were from fleas. The child was placed in protective custody with the Department of Family and Children Services.

Davis is charged with DWI, second-degree cruelty to children and she may face charges of reckless conduct. She is in the Fulton County Jail under a $2,500 bond.

The toddler had probably been home alone since Thursday evening.  Deputies said the doors to the home were locked and the child was locked inside his room.

This is such a sad story, but glad the toddler was removed from her custody. Unfortunately, these type stories are becoming a common occurrence.

God bless the children!

Peace
