Joseph DiBenedetto, 25, lives with this mother, Debbie Verab, who takes care of him. She says the landlord has tried to evict them for over a year. The landlord, Brian Boling, does not admit to evicting them because of DiBenedetto's weight. He says he just doesn't want them tenants.
The landlord is not the bad guy in this situation. If his property is being damaged by a tenant, whether by hand or by weight, he has the right to evict the tenant. It is not politically correct for him to say it is because of his weight, but we know it is...and in this instance, Brian Boling is justified.
Debbie Verab says, "they're hoping someone will give them some suggestions on a place that will accommodate Joseph's weight problem." The best place to accommodate his weight problem is a inpatient weight loss facility. What about Joseph losing some weight?
Verab does the grocery shopping and she prepares the meals. She loves her son, but she needs to ensure that whatever food there is in the house is healthy and nutritional.
The report does not say why Joseph is over 600 pounds, but if he is suffering from some medical issue that would have been in the report. He is morbidly obese and his mother is his enabler.
Peace
