Leah Efay Davis also told police she was eight months pregnant, that she owned Provo Town Center Mall where she is suspected of shoplifting at JC Penny and that she played Rudy Huxtable on "The Cosby Show".
Actually, Keisha Knight Pulliam, right, played the role of Rudy Huxtable. Davis, on the left, was "shopping" in a JC Penny store when she was seen putting several items in a bag....she came prepared, it was a store bag. She walked out the store and was detained by security; she had stolen $591.26 in merchandise.
Police charged Davis with "enhanced third-degree felony count of retail theft because of prior shoplifting convictions, and class B misdemeanor criminal trespass". She has a $5000 bond and her first court appearance is scheduled for January 9, 2012.
“She was not supposed to be at the mall, due to a prior crime,” Sgt. Suifanua explained, adding that the theft charge was elevated to a felony due also to previous altercations with the law."
One For the Road
Police arrive at a home in Winnipeg Canada to find a woman who was shot in the eye calmly sitting in a chair. She didn't appear to realize she was shot and didn't seem in any distress. Police say she appeared to be very high on drugs, alcohol or both.
The body of Michael Sinclair was found in the same room and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities say there were at least 10 other people in the home on New Year's Eve in various states of impairment.
The strange thing is the woman refused treatment for the gunshot to her eye until she finished her beer. She remains in the hospital but is reported to be in stable condition.
These crazy stories bring to mind lyrics from Cee Lo Green's song "Crazy":
