Her 5 year-old had a gash under one eye and the 12 year-old and the 16 year-old were pretty shaken up. Dillard got out of the car and walked a short distance to a CVS...but not to get help for her children.
Dillard reportedly entered the CVS and began removing her clothes "as she ate ice cream". Police were called to the CVS. When they arrived, they found Dillard naked and eating ice cream, but she wasn't ready to leave.
Subsequently, police found the wrecked car with the children inside.
The children are now in the custody of their grandparent.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office |
Okaloosa County Sheriff's office received a call around 3:44 a.m. from a witness who found two girls walking around in the parking lot of AJ's Seafood and Oyster Bar.
The two girls, ages seven and eleven, said they were looking for their mom, Melissa Ammons of Montgomery, Alabama.
When deputies arrived, Ammons was already back in the car with the girls getting ready to leave the bar.
According to police, Ammons left the children alone in the car while she went drinking in the bar for about an hour and a half. She was charged with child neglect and DUI. Hopefully, her children are removed from her custody.
The 9 year-old left the restaurant around 9:30 p.m. on Friday night. He was walking home down a very busy highway. Sheriff's deputies picked him up about a mile down the highway.
Deputies went to the restaurant and found Weeks behind the wheel of her car, getting ready to leave, with a 5 year-old in the back seat.
These women all have excuses for their behavior, but there are no acceptable excuses for neglecting children. They will probably never win "Mother of the Year" awards, but maybe some time in jail will give them a chance to reflect on their charges.
