He told the 911 dispatcher that police in DeLand were bothering him and he was only trying to "proclaim the love of Jesus" and asked "how that was going to get him arrested for abuse" of the 911 system.
At one point, he told the 911 dispatcher that he was her daddy. He said Jesus is his son and he was her father. He said his wife was disappointed, but did not explain why.
McGurik quickly learned how calling 911 eight times could get him arrested.
When police found McGuirk, he was drinking a Natural Ice beer on Howry Avenue. They asked the 911 dispatcher to call the number back and it began to ring on McGurik's person.

Police arrested McGuirk and charged him with misuse of a wireless 911 system. Fortunately for him, he can call on his son for bail money and an attorney.
